Ingredients:
● 1 cup flour, all-purpose or wheat
● ½ tsp salt
● ¼ tsp garlic powder
● ¼ tsp paprika (optional)
● ½ cup sharp cheddar cheese, finely shredded
● ⅓ cup walnuts, finely chopped (a food processor makes this easy!)
● 3 Tbsp unsalted butter (chilled, cubed small)
● 2–3 Tbsp ice-cold water
Instructions:
-
Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for an easy clean up later!
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour and all spices.
- Add the shredded cheese and walnuts and toss to combine.
- Add the cold butter and use a pastry cutter or hands to incorporate until the mixture looks crumbly.
- Add cold water 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing gently until the dough just comes together.
- Roll the dough out on a floured surface to about ⅛–¼ inch thick.
- Cut into fun shapes using small cookie cutters or just slice into squares with a knife or pizza cutter.
- Place the crackers on the prepared baking sheet and prick each one with a fork to prevent puffing.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Cool completely before serving.
